Initially we started with a branding design project, to create a new corporate identity for The Cruise Hub. We came up with this unique brand - a friendly and fun image - which can easilly be identified as a cruise-holiday business.

The website is one of the most intricate we have ever created. From a user point-of-view it’s relatively simple, but the backend is quite involved (with lots of data fields) which gives The Cruise Hub management great flexibility over the site content and loads of control over the Cruise Offers available. Additionally, there is information about the Cruise Line operators, details of the ships and hotels… as well as Special Offers and Booking Enquiry forms.

The whole website is run from Expression Engine, with PHP and a MySQL database. We also host the site on Linux server and look after their domain names and email mailboxes.

Gigant are a large company spanning Sweden, Finland and the UK with a product catalogue offering thousands of products.

Although the Gigant UK website is a not uncommon in its structure - categories and products - the data systems behind the front end are complex. All data is captured from the Swedish parent company’s product database, processed on the UK servers and then presented in this clear and easy-to-use website.

The key criteria for the design and build of this UK-market focused website, was to generate leads from search engines using as many of the key phrases already available as possible. The website was designed with search-engine-friendly titles, product descriptions, links and image tags to capture as much traffic as possible from the outset.
Additionally, there is full buy online ecommerce functionality, enabling customers to purchase products on the website - we have utilised the secure payment gateway services provided by Sagepay.

Furthermore there is ample opportunity for the website to grow in all directions. More sections and information pages can be added to suit the needs of business, as well as the addition of more product categories and individual products. Using the already established corporate branding and identity, we were able to design this website to enhanced and support BFT’s current marketing materials.

By providing BFT with the tools to edit and add content to the site, as and when required (using a Content Management System), we were able to provide a scalable online marketing tool which can grow with the business and still remain flexible to upgrade in the future, with new features.

We established early on that Search Engine Optimisation was an important requirement for this new website, so that BFT could gain good positioning in search results, against their competitors. By coding the site and providing all the necessary fields in the CMS (eg. META keywords) BFT can benefit from ensuring they have the power to grow the site as often as they like.

This is a simply massive ecommerce website! Thousands of electrical and electronic DJ products, in multi-level categories which can be browsed or searched for, and sorted by price, brand, customer rating or the most recently added.

Registered customers have access to their previous order information, a wishlist, their personal account information and preferences - as well as offering DJ Kit Loyalty Points for every purchase made on the site. One of Probe Manufacturing’s major product lines, is the Probe Mobile Shelving range or roller racking. These shelving systems run along ‘rails’ and are moved using rotating handles at end of the shelving unit. They greatly reduce the amount of space required, for storing office files and folders, over using traditional standard shelving.

The website has been designed to take advantage of nice illustrations and diagrams produced for the product range. More space has been allocated to large images, than might usually be found on a website - although there is still a decent amount of textual information.
