We started the production process for this website, by designing a new logo for the company. The client wanted to keep things clean and simple, and also to focus on the sale of "value-for-money" coal products, so we reflected this in the design of the logo. Concise and effective, with an easily recognisable style which can be used on any digital or printed medium.
For the ecommerce website itself, we chose to use the Magento platform. It offers some powerful features for order management, right out of the box, and the product catalogue can be expanded over time by the client, to enhance their product range.
We applied our own HTML/CSS web design templates to the content management system (CMS), to produce a clean and powerful online selling tool.
For the payment gateway, we have integrated CardSave to process customers' credit/debit cards.
The website hosting is provided by IC360 on a Linux server which is especially suitable for Magento websites.
Although the Cheap Coal is predominantly all about selling coal and solid fuel products in the UK, they also offer logs for your open fire or log burner.
